In 2017, 59,960 applicants secured a university place through clearing, according to Universities UK. This year, thousands more students will get a university place through clearing, which began in July and runs until the end of October. Clearing means universities and colleges can fill spare places and students have the option of getting onto a different course if they don’t get the A-Level results they expected.
August is one of the busiest times in the Education Cubed office as we await A-Level results day. Students across the UK will find out if they got the grades they require to get into the university of their choice. Meanwhile, universities and higher education providers are initiating clearing campaigns and working on the best recruitment strategies for their institutions, which is where Education Cubed comes in. Our experience as
Education Cubed is not just office-based during this critical time for universities. Our team members are on site with our clients, such as Gloucestershire and Bradford acting as an extension of their team, offering real-time insights into the market and working with them on creative recruitment strategies that will encourage students to choose their university.
However, the shining stars are our strategists back in the Brighton office. They’ll be looking at real-time bidding sequences to see what key words universities are bidding on so they can analyse spikes in prices for certain subjects, advising on best practice, advertising insights, ensuring ROI and checking that university budgets are spent effectively, targeting the right students at exactly the right time. Starting at 5:15am on A Level results day, the team are fully equipped and ready to go at the crack of dawn.
Our extensive digital marketing experience working with a wide range of higher education providers means that when it comes to clearing, we will create campaigns that will get your university seen and students through the door. We are passionate about realising the best outcomes for our clients and potential students – helping them take their first steps into higher education. When it comes to scoping, planning and buying student recruitment campaigns using programmatic advertising and social media, Education Cubed has successfully recruited thousands of students for universities worldwide. Here’s to more success stories this year.
